Leslie Mendoza Temple, MD

Dr. Leslie Mendoza Temple serves as Medical Director of the Integrative Medicine Program at Endeavor Health (formerly NorthShore University HealthSystem) in Glenview, Illinois and as a Clinical Professor of Family Medicine at the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine. From 2014 to 2016, she helped guide evolving state policies on delivering medical cannabis care as Chair of the Medical Cannabis Advisory Board for the Illinois Department of Public Health, and has rejoined the board in 2023. In addition to policy, her interest in psychedelics as medicine is a natural next step for exploration with an emphasis on safety and education for patients and healthcare professionals.

Francoise Adan, MD

Françoise Adan, MD, is the Chief Whole Health and Well-being Officer for University Hospitals Health System (UH) and the Director of UH Connor Whole Health based in Cleveland, Ohio. Through her skilled leadership, Dr. Adan created and is successfully directing a system-wide initiative where state-of-the-art medical care is integrated with innovative, evidence-based therapies and services to bring whole health and well-being to all patients and employees. With her whole health vision, Dr. Adan aims to equip and empower everyone to take charge of their own physical, mental, and spiritual health in order to live a full and meaningful life. Dr. Adan is focused on creating a shift in health care delivery to combat our nation’s health care crisis. In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Dr. Adan spearheaded UH4YOU, a new system-wide program designed to provide practical resources and compassionate support for UH’s 30,000+ caregivers during this challenging time and beyond. With over 25 years of experience, Dr. Adan encourages patients, caregivers, and the community to understand the critical connection between the mind, body, and spirit. In addition to her work with University Hospitals, Dr. Adan is the Immediate Past Chair of the Board of Directors of the Academic Consortium of Integrative Medicine and Health, Advisory Board Member for the Susan and Henry Samueli College of Health Sciences at the University of California, Irvine, and Assistant Professor at the CWRU School of Medicine. She is also a consultant for global corporations on employee well-being and resilience initiatives. Dr. Adan is a frequent presenter on stress management and resilience, successful integrative medicine program development, and system-level integration of a Whole Health approach to health care.

Jeffery A. Dusek, PhD

Jeffery A. Dusek, PhD, is a Professor in Residence, Department of Medicine, University of California- Irvine (UCI) and Director of Outcomes Research, Susan Samueli Integrative Health Institute, UCI. Dr. Dusek has 25+ years of experience leading innovative integrative health and medicine research at prominent research and healthcare institutions in the United States with funding from the National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health (NCCIH) of the NIH. He is currently PI of a multi-year NCCIH R01 grant to examine the use of acupuncture as a pain-relieving intervention in several Emergency Departments across the US. Dr. Dusek is also the co-leader of the BraveNet Practice Based Research Network – which includes 26 well-known US integrative medicine clinics in the US. Dusek is the Principal Investigator of BraveNet’s 5,000 person outpatient study entitled Patients Receiving Integrative Medicine Interventions Effectiveness Registry (PRIMIER). Dr. Dusek’s research has been published in eminent journals such as the Journal of the National Cancer Institute, Circulation, JAMA Network Open and the Proceedings of the National Academy of Science. His research been featured in such venues as the New York Times, Washington Post, Boston Globe, USA Today and National Public Radio.

While working at the Johns Hopkins Center for Bariatric Surgery, Dr. Frame earned her PhD in Human Nutrition from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health and received a Master of Health Science in Molecular Microbiology and Immunology from the same school. Dr. Frame earned Distinction in Biochemistry from Mary Baldwin College (now University).

Aviad “Adi” Haramati, PhD, is an award-winning physiologist and medical educator. He is Professor of Integrative Physiology, Director of the Center for Innovation and Leadership in Education (CENTILE), and co-director of the graduate program in Integrative Medicine & Health Sciences at Georgetown University Medical Center, in Washington, DC. Dr. Haramati teaches mindful practices to medical students, residents and faculty to foster professional identity formation and well-being. Eric Roseen, DC PhD

Eric J. Roseen, DC, PhD is an assistant professor of medicine at the Chobanian and Avedisian School of Medicine and is the director of the Program for Integrative Medicine and Health Disparities at Boston Medical Center (BMC). Dr. Roseen’s research has focused on the epidemiology of common musculoskeletal conditions, effectiveness of nonpharmacologic therapies for low back pain, and implementation of effective nonpharmacologic treatments for musculoskeletal pain in underserved communities. This work has aimed to provide evidence to inform policies that influence how musculoskeletal pain is managed in primary care settings.

Samantha Simmons, MPH is the CEO of the Academic Consortium for Integrative Medicine & Health, responsible for the oversight and execution of all operations and strategy of the Academic Consortium. In this role, Ms. Simmons is the key catalyst to building the community of health centers, integrative health programs, scientific and business leaders within the field of integrative health to execute the mission and vision of the Consortium. Ms. Simmons is an accomplished leader in the field of integrative medicine with an extensive background in many facets of promoting transformation in healthcare through collaborative initiatives and strategic partnerships. Stephanie Cheng, MD

Stephanie Cheng, MD is a palliative care physician with a longstanding commitment to integrative medicine. She currently works at the UCSF Helen Diller Family Comprehensive Cancer Center, providing supportive care for patients with cancer. Dr. Cheng has a special interest in holistic management of symptoms and improving quality of life through integrative approaches, especially by considering psychosocial and spiritual aspects of wellness. She co-created innovative group medical visits pairing psycho-oncology and integrative palliative care for patients with advanced cancer. Dr. Cheng has completed training in chaplaincy (through the Sati Center for Buddhist Studies) and mind body medicine (through the Center for Mind Body Medicine), and a two-year training through Spirit Rock Insight Meditation Center and the Metta Institute focused on incorporating contemplative practice, mindfulness, and compassion into one’s personal and professional lives. Dr. Cheng has a background in anthropology, earned her medical degree at Oregon Health & Science University, then completed a family medicine residency at Contra Costa Regional Medical Center, followed by a fellowship in hospice and palliative medicine, with an integrative medicine focus, at George Washington University. She is passionate about planetary health and is studying to become a nature and forest therapy guide.

Emmeline Edwards, PhD

Dr. Emmeline Edwards is director of the Division of Extramural Research of the National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health (NCCIH). In that capacity, she is responsible for development of scientific programs or areas of science that fulfill NCCIH's mission as well as planning, implementation and policy. NCCIH is one of 27 components of the National Institutes of Health (NIH), with a mission to define, through rigorous scientific investigation, the usefulness and safety of complementary and alternative medicine interventions and their roles in improving health and health care. Before coming to NIH, Dr. Edwards earned her Ph.D. in Neurochemistry from Forham University, did postdoctoral research in behavioral pharmacology and neuroscience at the State University of New York, and was a tenured Associate Professor in the Department of Pharmacology at the University of Maryland. Her research there focused on the neural mechanisms of complex behaviors and characterization of a genetic model of affective disorders. She also served as Chair of the Graduate Studies and Research Committee and Member of the Dean's Executive Council at the University of Maryland. Currently, Dr. Edwards is Co-Chair of the trans NIH Music and Health working group, member of the Sound Health Steering Committee and member of the Interagency Task Force on the Arts and Human Development. Dr. Edwards is also Chair of World Women in Neuroscience (WWN), an independent mentoring and networking organization, with the primary mission of identifying, promoting and implementing mentoring and networking opportunities for women neuroscientists across the world.

Frederick (Rick) Hecht, MD

Rick Hecht is Professor of Medicine at UCSF. He has served as Research Director of the UCSF Osher Center for Integrative Health and Osher Foundation Endowed Chair for Research in Integrative Medicine from 2002 to 2023. He is trained in internal medicine, HIV medicine, and clinical epidemiology. His research focuses on rigorous testing of lifestyle interventions and the health effects of mind-body interventions. He is the author of over 250 peer-reviewed articles, and has been the principal investigator of 20 NIH grants. He has played a variety of leadership roles in the field of integrative medicine research, including serving as Chair of the Academic Consortium for Integrative Medicine and Health.

Rogier Hoenders, MD, PhD

Rogier Hoenders is an integrative psychiatrist, head of research and clinical affairs of the Centre for Integrative Psychiatry (CIP) of Lentis in Groningen, the Netherlands. He is also a professor of spirituality, lifestyle and mental healthcare at the University of Groningen. He initiated and directs the Lentis lifestyle program, in which patients as well as staff members are trained in mind-body medicine and a healthy lifestyle, including spirituality. He is one of the initiators and a core member of the Dutch AKWA guideline committee on spirituality in mental healthcare. Rogier is co-founder and chair of the Dutch Consortium for Integrative Medicine and Health.

Nadine Ijaz, MSc, PhD

Dr. Nadine Ijaz is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Law and Legal Studies whose work critically interrogates the epistemic, socio-cultural, economic and evidentiary complexities associated with governing therapeutic pluralism. Dr. Ijaz’s interdisciplinary research in the field of traditional/Indigenous, complementary and integrative medicine (TCIM) draws on the disciplines of medical sociology and anthropology, (postcolonial feminist) science and technology studies, and critical policy studies. Her research draws attention to contentious questions of epistemic (in)justice, health care accessibility, risk discourse, and cultural misappropriation – including in the policy sphere. Her current project — Integrative Medicine in North America: Paradigm Shift or New Physician Specialty? — is funded by the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (2021 – 2026). Dr. Ijaz leads The TCIM Lab, a research hub for studies in therapeutic pluralism.

Esther Konigsberg, MD, CCFP

Dr. Esther Konigsberg – Integrative Medicine Consultant is the medical director of Integrative Medicine Consultants Inc. in Toronto, Ontario. She is a member of the Canadian College of Family Physicians and a graduate from the Fellowship Program in Integrative Medicine at the University of Arizona. Dr. Konigsberg is an Assistant Clinical Professor at the University of Arizona at the Andrew Weil Center for Integrative Medicine. Dr Konigsberg is an Assistant Clinical Professor at McMaster University’s Medical School as well as McMaster’s Representative for the Canadian Academic Consortium on Integrative Health and Education. She is the current chair of the Ontario Medical Association’s Complementary and Integrative Medicine Medical Interest Group. Dr. Konigsberg is McMaster’s institutional representative at the Academic Consortium for Integrative Medicine and Health and the past Chair of the Integrative Medicine Fellowship Recognition Committee. Mary Jo Kreitzer, PhD, RN, FAAN

Mary Jo Kreitzer PhD, RN, FAAN is the founder and director of the Earl E. Bakken Center for Spirituality & Healing at the University of Minnesota where she also serves as a tenured professor in the School of Nursing. She has served as the principal investigator or co-principal investigator of numerous clinical trials focusing on mindfulness meditation with persons with chronic disease including studies focusing on solid organ transplant, cardiovascular disease, chronic insomnia, diabetes, and caregivers of people with Alzheimer’s disease. Recent studies include the use of social technology to enhance healing and wellbeing and the impact of mindfulness on brain-computer interface performance. Dr. Kreitzer has authored over 150 publications and is the co-editor of the text Integrative Nursing 2nd Edition published in 2019 by Oxford University Press. She earned her doctoral degree in public health focused on health services research, policy and administration, and her master’s and bachelor’s degrees in nursing. Dr. Kreitzer was named in 2020 as one of the 100 most influential health care leaders in Minnesota by MN Physician. She is a fellow in the American Academy of Nursing, a distinguished policy fellow in the National Academies of Practice and a Fellow Ad Eundem of the Faculty of Nursing and Midwifery in the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland.

Geeta Maker-Clark, MD

Dr. Geeta Maker-Clark is the Director of Integrative Nutrition and Advocacy at NorthShore University Health System and clinical assistant professor and co-director of the Culinary Medicine program at the University of Chicago, Pritzker School of Medicine, one of the first nutrition and cooking programs in an academic center in the country. She is fellowship trained in obstetrics and maternal child health, and a graduate of the University of Arizona 2 year Fellowship in Integrative Medicine, under the supervision of Dr. Andrew Weil. Dr. Maker-Clark started the Food is Power program on the South Side of Chicago to empower middle schoolers with the knowledge and expertise around making great food choices, within a curriculum that focuses on decolonizing food and nutrition education. She is also the founder of the Food is Medicine CME symposium that draws over 250 people annually to Chicago to learn the latest in nutritional science as well as food education innovation. Dr. Maker-Clark was selected as one of twelve food justice activists for the Castanea Fellowship 2019-21 and is the 2021 Pollan Food Journalism Fellow at Mesa Refuge in Point Reyes, CA.  Dr.Maker-Clark has consulted for non profits that work with formerly incarcerated people who are now trained chefs, helping accelerate a program for healthy meals distribution for food insecure communities affected by COVID. She works with the South Asian domestic violence organization Apna Ghar to teach classes that feature culturally favored foods, and is in partnership with Urban Growers Collective- a Black- and women-led non-profit 11 acre farm in Chicago, having created several food as medicine programs that reach thousands. Maria Mascarenhas, MD

Dr. Mascarenhas is a Professor of Pediatrics at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, PA. She is board certified in Pediatrics, Nutrition and Pediatric Gastroenterology and is the Director of the Integrative Health Program, Section Chief of Nutrition, Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition, Medical Director of the Clinical Nutrition Department at The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. Dr Mascarenhas received her medical degree from the St John's Medical College, Bangalore University, India and completed her pediatric internship and residency training at Downstate Medical Center, Brooklyn, NY and Texas Children's Hospital, Houston TX, respectively. Ms. Nusrat serves as both Director of Programming in Integrative Medicine and Planetary Health and Senior Program Manager at the Osher Center for Integrative Medicine at Harvard Medical School and Brigham and Women's Hospital. She holds a Master of Science in Environmental Technology from Imperial College, London University. Her 25+ years in industry span environmentally sustainable program development and management, event management, marketing and communications, market research and grant management. I am a hospital-based chiropractic physician and researcher interested in the use of manual therapies for musculoskeletal and neurological disorders. My research focuses on the clinical application of these therapies and associated health care utilization and treatment outcomes.

Alison Whitehead, MPH, C-IAYT

Ms. Whitehead is the Program Lead for the VA Integrative Health Coordinating Center (IHCC) in the Office of Patient Centered Care & Cultural Transformation. In this role Ms. Whitehead leads development of programs, trainings, and policy for integrative health implementation across the VA system as a part of the VA’s Whole Health System transformation. In this role Alison also leads efforts around TeleWholeHealth, and Well-being Programs, and is involved in the Inclusion-Diversity, Equity and Access Task Force. Alison recently completed a 3-year term on the Board of Directors of the Academic Consortium for Integrative Medicine and Health (ACIMH). In addition, she is an IAYT certified yoga therapist, yoga instructor, and personal trainer. Rosalie Diaz, Psy.D

Dr. Rosalie Diaz is a Clinical Psychologist and the Whole Health Program Director for VA Northeast Ohio Healthcare System (VANEOHS). Her clinical focus has been in management of chronic conditions and complementary and integrative health interventions. During her 10 years at the VA, her assignments have included diverse clinical settings in Primary Care and Women’s Veterans Health Clinic, Gender Identity Veterans Experience (G.I.V.E.) Clinic and Mental Health Ambulatory Clinical Care. The majority of her recent work has focused on implementation of Whole Health for Veterans and Employees for VANEOHS, quality improvement for wellbeing and clinical offerings, staff education on wellness and self-care, and innovation. Dr. Diaz has successfully secured funding to help program expansion and has achieved much in program development for veterans and staff.

Western Reserve University School of Medicine and holds the Helen Moss Foundation – Schoff Family Endowed Professorship in Integrative Oncology. She is also the Faculty Co-Lead of the JJM Mandel Wellness and Preventive Care Pathway in the School of Medicine, where she is involved with the development and implementation of wellness, lifestyle medicine and culinary medicine curriculum for medical students. Patricia Kiefer, APRN, MSN

Patricia Kiefer is an APRN, receiving her BSN and MSN for the University of Akron. She has 20 years of nursing experience in a variety of roles i.e.: medical and cardiac intensive care staff nurse, Spinal cord injury and disorder Clinical Nurse Specialist, Veterans health education coordinator and Whole health education lead. She is trained as a Tai chi practice leader and teaches Zentangle inspired art(ZIA) to employees and Veterans. Experience with planning and operationalizing particular projects using PDSA cycle and guiding steps to advance across the organization and continuum of care.

Maryanna Klatt, PhD

Dr. Klatt’s research focus has been to develop and evaluate feasible, cost-effective ways to reduce the risk of stress-related chronic illness, for employees of high stress work environments- specifically for those working in healthcare. She is the Director of the Ohio State University Center for Integrative Health with active funded yoga/mindfulness research for worksite populations, now expanding beyond healthcare employees, designing yoga practices for first responders on the job.

Dr. Esther Konigsberg – Integrative Medicine Consultant is the medical director of Integrative Medicine Consultants Inc. in Toronto, Ontario. Kelly Lyle, MHA, MS

Kelly Lyle has a Masters of Health Administration and a Masters of Science in Health Promotion and Education degrees. She is a certified yoga instructor, ACE Certified Health Coach and a certified Breath Coach. Kelly has helped build the University of Cincinnati Osher Center’s educational offerings to include a variety of new graduate and undergraduate integrative medicine courses, collaborative certificate programs and more.

Niki Munk, PhD, LMT

Dr. Niki Munk is Chair and Associate Professor of Health Sciences in Indiana University’s School of Health & Human Sciences in Indianapolis, a non-practicing Kentucky licensed massage therapist, and founding steering committee member for the Indiana Consortium for Integrative Medicine and Health. Niki worked as Program Director and instructor for the Lexington Healing Arts Academy (Kentucky) from 2002-2006. Discouraged by accessibility barriers to massage therapy faced by much of the population, she chose research and academia to help bridge the accessibility gap reasoning that stronger evidence for the field will lead to increased routine 3rd party coverage for massage treatment. After completing her doctorate in gerontology from the University of Kentucky in 2011, Niki has developed a robust research career focused on real-world massage therapy for chronic pain and associated factors including emotional well-being, trigger point self-care, and accessibility challenges to massage. Niki’s expertise and interests span several stakeholder domains including that of non-pharmacological treatment clinicians, chronic serious illness, and clinical research. Niki is a Massage Therapy Foundation Trustee since 2018 and focuses her service on massage clinician research engagement and developing the massage field into a sustainable and viable career while improving treatment accessibility and utilization for all people.

Beth Steinberg, MS, RN, NEA-BC

With a long history of clinical and administrative nursing roles, Beth’s current role supports the planning, development, implementation, and research activities related to the Center for Integrative Health at The Ohio State University. Beth has utilized her training in Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction and as a Registered Yoga Teacher to facilitate programming and support her research focusing on decreasing stress and improving resilience for healthcare workers. As a co-founder of Buckeye PawsTM, a therapy dog program that supports staff, faculty, and student health and well-being, Beth’s goal is to validate the effects of this innovative program on inter-professional providers in the hospital environment and for students across The Ohio State University campuses.

Paula Gardiner, MD, MPH

Paula Gardiner, MD, MPH, is at Cambridge Health Alliance and the Center for Mindfulness and Compassion where she the director of Primary Care Implementation Research and works in the Tufts Family Medicine Residency. She is an Associate Professor of Family Medicine and Community Health at University Massachusetts School. She directs the group medical visit program in the Center for Integrated Primary Care. In addition to completing her MPH from the Harvard School of Public Health, she also completed a three-year Clinical Research Fellowship in Complementary and Alternative Medicine Research and Faculty Development at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Gardiner, with funding from NIH and a PCORI grant, focuses her research on mindfulness, technology, and health disparities and increasing access in low income patients. Current research is focused on the adaptive role of an Medical Group Visits combining mindfulness-based stress reduction (MBSR) and a medical group visit to support health behavior change and reducing pain and stress. Dr. Gardiner is leading the implementation of this medical group visit model nationally and provides training on medical group visits around the United States. She has published over 90 peer-reviewed papers on chronic pain, health disparities, technology, dietary supplements, stress, and integrative medicine

Maryanna Klatt, PhD

Dr. Klatt’s research focus has been to develop and evaluate feasible, cost-effective ways to reduce the risk of stress-related chronic illness, for employees of high stress work environments- specifically for those working in healthcare. She is the Director of the Ohio State University Center for Integrative Health with active funded yoga/mindfulness research for worksite populations, now expanding beyond healthcare employees, designing yoga practices for first responders on the job.

Seneca Block, MA, MT-BC, PhD

Seneca Block is a board certified music therapist and The Lauren Rich Fine Endowed Director of Expressive Therapies within University Hospitals Connor Whole Health. He is currently working on the implementation of music therapy into standard health care models including both general medical and psychiatric settings. With a history of clinical training within institutions including Horizons for Homeless Children, Tufts Medical Center and Mclean Psychiatric Hospital of Harvard Medical School, Seneca received both his master's and bachelor’s degrees in music therapy from Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA along with a minor focus on psychology.

Rosalie Diaz, Psy.D

Dr. Rosalie Diaz is a Clinical Psychologist and the Whole Health Program Director for VA Northeast Ohio Healthcare System (VANEOHS). Her clinical focus has been in management of chronic conditions and complementary and integrative health interventions. During her 10 years at the VA, her assignments have included diverse clinical settings in Primary Care and Women’s Veterans Health Clinic, Gender Identity Veterans Experience (G.I.V.E.) Clinic and Mental Health Ambulatory Clinical Care. The majority of her recent work has focused on implementation of Whole Health for Veterans and Employees for VANEOHS, quality improvement for wellbeing and clinical offerings, staff education on wellness and self-care, and innovation. Dr. Diaz has successfully secured funding to help program expansion and has achieved much in program development for veterans and staff.

Darshan Mehta, MD, MPH

Darshan Mehta, MD, MPH is Assistant Professor in Medicine at Harvard Medical School. He is the Director of Education for the Osher Center at Brigham & Women’s Hospital and Harvard Medical School, Medical Director of the Benson-Henry Institute for Mind Body Medicine at MGH, and Director for the Office for Well-Being with the Center for Faculty Development at MGH. In addition, he is the MGH site director for the Practice of Medicine curriculum required of all 1st-year Harvard Medical School students and leads their well-being curriculum. His educational and research interests include curricular development in complementary and integrative medical therapies, mind/body educational interventions in health professions training, and promotion of professionalism in medical trainees. Dr. Mehta received his BA in Biology from Illinois Wesleyan University and an MD from University of Texas-Southwestern Medical School. He completed his residency in internal medicine at University of Illinois-Chicago Hospital. In 2008, he completed a clinical research fellowship in complementary and integrative medicine at the Harvard Medical School Osher Research Center, during which he received a Master of Public Health degree from the Harvard School of Public Health. Dr. Mehta is active in the Massachusetts Medical Society, and is a member of the American College of Physicians and the Academy of Integrative Medicine and Health. Dr. Mehta is board-certified through the American Board of Integrative Medicine and has completed professional training in mindfulness-based stress reduction at the University of Massachusetts Medical School. He serves as the chair for the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Task Force for the Academic Consortium Integrative Medicine and Health (ACIMH) and is on the Editorial Board for the Journal of Integrative and Complementary Medicine.

Samantha Simmons, MPH

Samantha Simmons, MPH is the CEO of the Academic Consortium for Integrative Medicine & Health, responsible for the oversight and execution of all operations and strategy of the Academic Consortium. In this role, Ms. Simmons is the key catalyst to building the community of health centers, integrative health programs, scientific and business leaders within the field of integrative health to execute the mission and vision of the Consortium. Ms. Simmons is an accomplished leader in the field of integrative medicine with an extensive background in many facets of promoting transformation in healthcare through collaborative initiatives and strategic partnerships. She is passionate about health policy advocacy and driving utilization of models of whole person care for underserved populations and is the P.I. of the Whole Health in the States (WHITS), a grant initiative geared towards these goals.

Eric Roseen, DC PhD

Eric J. Roseen, DC, PhD is an assistant professor of medicine at the Chobanian and Avedisian School of Medicine and is the director of the Program for Integrative Medicine and Health Disparities at Boston Medical Center (BMC). Dr. Roseen’s research has focused on the epidemiology of common musculoskeletal conditions, effectiveness of nonpharmacologic therapies for low back pain, and implementation of effective nonpharmacologic treatments for musculoskeletal pain in underserved communities. This work has aimed to provide evidence to inform policies that influence how musculoskeletal pain is managed in primary care settings.

Jeffery A. Dusek, PhD

Jeffery A. Dusek, PhD, is a Professor in Residence, Department of Medicine, University of California- Irvine (UCI) and Director of Outcomes Research, Susan Samueli Integrative Health Institute, UCI. Dr. Dusek has 25+ years of experience leading innovative integrative health and medicine research at prominent research and healthcare institutions in the United States with funding from the National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health (NCCIH) of the NIH. He is currently PI of a multi-year NCCIH R01 grant to examine the use of acupuncture as a pain-relieving intervention in several Emergency Departments across the US. Dr. Dusek is also the co-leader of the BraveNet Practice Based Research Network – which includes 26 well-known US integrative medicine clinics in the US. Dusek is the Principal Investigator of BraveNet’s 5,000 person outpatient study entitled Patients Receiving Integrative Medicine Interventions Effectiveness Registry (PRIMIER). Dr. Dusek’s research has been published in eminent journals such as the Journal of the National Cancer Institute, Circulation, JAMA Network Open and the Proceedings of the National Academy of Science. His research been featured in such venues as the New York Times, Washington Post, Boston Globe, USA Today and National Public Radio.
