Traveling To and From Cleveland:
Traveling to Cleveland by air can be a convenient and efficient way to
reach the city, as Cleveland Hopkins International Airport (CLE)
is located just 9 miles southwest of downtown Cleveland. 

 

The airport has a variety of facilities and services available for

travelers including restaurants, shops, and lounges. The airport

is also well-connected to the city via public transportation and

taxis, making it easy to reach your final destination. 

 
International Congress and Members Meeting participants are responsible for making their own travel and accommodations reservations. The Academic Consortium has NOT enlisted the services of a third party to make these arrangements on behalf of meeting participants.  In the event you are contacted by a third party offering these services, proceed with caution as it may be a scam. 
 

Ground Transportation To and From the Airport 

Cleveland Hopkins International Airport (CLE) is only 20 minutes from the Hilton Cleveland Downtown.

Cost: $2.50 + $2.50 a mile
Time: 25 minutes 
 
Public Transportation
The RTA offers several options to get from the airport to the Hilton. The Red Line train runs directly from the airport to Tower City Station, which is just a short walk from the hotel. The trip takes about 25 minutes and costs $2.50 a person. For more information check out RTA's Website. 
 

Car Rental Information

CLE has a consolidated rental car facility located off the airport grounds. Shuttle service is available for all rental car customers from the main terminal to the rental car facility. The rental car shuttle makes frequent stops, every few minutes at the curb on baggage claim levels of each terminal.

Passport Requirements 

A foreign national entering the United States are generally required to present a valid passport and visa issued by a U.S. Consular Official. Visit the U.S. Customs Border Protection for more information and identification requirements. 

 

What makes a passport valid?

  • Does not expire within the date parameters established by the country of issue or travel. Some countries require the passport to remain valid for six months after the date of departure.
  • Has blank pages for immigration stamps, not including the final page of the visa section.
  • Is in good condition and is not damaged or torn. 

Visa Information  

It is the sole responsibility of the attendee to take care of his/her requirements. Attendees who require an entry visa must allow sufficient time for the application procedure. Visa applicants should be submitted at least 90 days before travel. 
 
Some countries will require visa applicants to provide supplementary information explaining the purpose of their travel, such as a letter of invitation. A link to generate a customer letter of invitation will be available in the registration confirmation email. The 2024 International Congress will not contact embassies or consulates directly on behalf of the applicant.
